Wisteria are native to China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, southern Canada and the Eastern united States. They are perhaps one of the most memorable of all our climbing plants. In full flower they literally "cascade" with large racemes of often fragrant pea like flowers. Wisteria floribunda Pink Ice is an elegant pink Japanese wisteria producing superb racemes, up to 60cm long, of fragrant, pea-like, pink flowers in May and June. The attractive light green leaflets, turn yellow in autumn before falling. Prefers a full sun location in fertile free draining soils but is tolerant of most free draining soils. Can be grown in the garden in a sunny location. It can easily be grown in a pot. Wherever you plant it, it will need something to grow up! When growing in a pot or other container use a good quality John Innes compost as this plant will be there a long time and peaty types of compost eventually degrade and become too packed and choke the roots. Please note: All our Wisteria are grafted plants. Cheaper seed or cutting raise plants will take approx. 15 years to flower. Grafted plants will flower in around 2 years.
