Euonymus europaeus Red Cascade-Spindle Tree in 9 cm Pot

Euonymus europaeus are native across much of Europe. Euonymus europaeus Red Cascade is a splendid cultivar that has been awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit. A superb dark green leaved, deciduous shrub, that truly comes into its own in autumn when the foliage turns stunning vivid shades of scarlet and crimson. Once seen, you will understand the common name of Burning Bush! The summer flowers are insignificant, but they result in abundant, very attractive fruits which split open to form four rich pink winged lobes with a bright orange seed at the centre and last on the plant well past leaf drop. Easy to grow in virtually any most well drained soil and a sunny or semi shade location. When growing in a pot or container use a good quality compost. Hungry plants are poor performers, so we recommend adding a controlled release fertiliser of 8-9 months formulation annually. One application lasts the whole year. Pruning is seldom necessary but should be undertaken in early spring as necessary to control growth.
