Ceanothus Puget Blue - California Lilac - Plant in 2 L Pot

Ceanothus are native to much of the Americas and are particularly abundant in the wild in California. They are a well known and widely planted shrub with many varieties. Puget Blue is a hardy evergreen variety, raised sometime before 1945 at the University of Washington Arboretum, Seattle USA. Possibly a hybrid between C. impressus and C. papillosus. Ceanothus Puget Blue is one of the best blue, evergreen Ceanothus and has been granted the RHS Award of Garden Merit. It forms a dense medium size shrub with ovate green leaves and deep blue flowers in abundance over a long period from spring until mid summer. Prefers full sun but will tolerate semi shade. It is not very tolerant of chalky or wet soil but thrives in coastal locations. This plant can be used in a mixed planting or as a stand alone specimen in the garden or a container. If planting in a pot or other container. Use a good quality compost. Ensure you feed regularly as a hungry plant is a poor performer.
