Trachelospermum asiaticum - Chinese Jasmine - plant in 9 cm pot

A truly beautiful evergreen twining climber introduced in species form from China in 1844 by Robert Fortune. Also occurs naturally in Korea and Japan. Very attractive dense green leaves and an abundance of creamy yellow and white Jasmine like, highly fragrant, flowers in summer and early autumn. This variety is an RHS Award of Garden Merit winner and more compact and less vigorous than T. jaminoides, (also available in our shop) however it is also a little hardier and has a different fragrance. Can be used in a mixed planting or as a stand alone specimen in the garden or can easily be grown in a pot. Wherever you plant it, it will need something to grow up! When growing in a pot or other container. Use a good quality John Innes compost as this plant will be there a long time and peaty types of compost eventually degrade and become too packed and choke the roots.
