Hydrangea Runaway Bride - Garland Hydrangea - Plant in 5 L Pot

Hydrangea Runaway Bride is a fantastic introduction and something of a revolution in Hydrangeas. The RHS plant of the year award winner in 2018, it is a compact plant that produces an amazing abundance of pure white lace cap flowers, over a long period from early summer to late autumn. The florets fade to a lovely pink as they age. Hither two garden Lacecaps only produce flower heads at the ends of the stems. Runaway Bride produces additional heads along the stems as well, hence the great proliferation of flowers, around six times more than previous Lacecaps. Very easy to grow in a sunny location, preferably with a little shade from very strong sunlight, in almost any soil that is not prone to drying out. It looks wonderful in a pot or container and is superb as a patio plant. In containers use a good quality John Innes compost as this plant will be there a long time and peaty types of compost eventually degrade; become too packed and choke the roots. Ensure you feed regularly as a hungry plant is a poor performer. We recommend Osmoscote pro 8-9 month applied in the early spring. One application gives all the nutrients the plant requires for the whole year. John Innes is a soils based compost.
