Fargesia robusta Formidable - Fountain Bamboo - Plant in 12cm Pot

Fargesia Robusta bamboos are native to Sichuan in China. Fargesia Robusta Formidable is a relatively recent introduction. A very hardy, evergreen, fast growing, dense, but non invasive species with attractive yellowish red colouration to the stems. The tip of the leaves gently cascade giving it the common name of Fountain Bamboo. An excellent subject for screening, hedging, containers and Japanese/Chinese garden designs. Fargesia Robusta Formidable is easy to grow in full sun or semi shade in most free draining soils. Harsh winter winds may damage the foliage but new growth will quickly emerge in spring. If planting in a pot or other container use a good quality compost. Ensure you feed regularly as a hungry plant is a poor performer.
