Ceanothus x pallidus Marie Simon-Californian Lilac in 9 cm Pot

Ceanothus x pallidus Marie Simon are of European origin. A lovely, small, deciduous shrub producing a mass of fragrant, light pink flowers in loose panicles over a long period from early summer until well into autumn. The flowers are followed by attractive red seed capsules and the stems have an attractive purple red colouring that is seen at is best in winter. Easy to grow in a sunny location in most well drained soils. Does not do well in chalky soil. Use in the garden border, trained against a wall, or on the patio in containers. In containers use a good quality, free draining compost and add a controlled release fertiliser to the compost, or feed regularly to ensure the plant performs to its best. Prune in early spring to encourage new growth and more prolific flowering.
