Abutilon Ashford Red - Flowering Maple - Plant in 2 L Pot

Abutilons in their many forms are native to all the continents except Europe. Abutilon Ashford Red is an outstanding hybrid Abutilon. It has upright slightly arching stems with extended internodal growth on mature plants. Leaves are large and Apple green. Because of its appearance and the fact it requires a sunny south facing wall to do well, it is often incorrectly listed as a climber, which it is not. Ashford Red will survive low temperatures, but it is not frost hardy so will require protection from frost. An attractive plant with larger distinctive beautiful bell shaped flowers of a rich Strawberry red. The flowers are pendant on long stems and are produced over a long period from around June to November. An excellent summer patio or conservatory plant. In good light in a location that is heated, they will often flower all year. Easy to grow in most fertile soils and a sunny sheltered location. If it becomes too large it can easily be cut back.
