Ordering & Payments
Browse our collections, add items to your basket and proceed to checkout. You can pay securely by card via our checkout. If you need help, email us at sales@thegarden-works.co.uk and we'll guide you through it.
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) as well as PayPal. All transactions are processed securely and your card details are never stored on our servers.
We process orders quickly, so please contact us as soon as possible at sales@thegarden-works.co.uk if you need to make changes. We'll always do our best to help, but we cannot guarantee amendments once an order has been picked and packed.
Yes. All payments are processed using industry-standard SSL encryption. We use trusted payment providers and never store your card details. Look for the padlock icon in your browser's address bar for confirmation.
Delivery
We currently deliver throughout mainland UK. We're working on extending our delivery reach — please contact us if you're in a remote area and we'll see what we can do.
All orders are delivered within 48 hours using our standard courier service.
We take great care packaging every order. Plants are secured in bespoke boxes with protective padding to prevent movement. Taller specimens are double-boxed and we include care instructions with every delivery.
Our couriers will attempt delivery and leave a card if no one is home. You'll receive tracking updates so you can arrange redelivery or collection from a local depot. We recommend leaving delivery instructions at checkout if you have a safe place.
Yes — delivery is completely free on all orders, no minimum spend required.
Plants & Care
Absolutely. Every plant is inspected before dispatch. If your plant arrives in poor condition, please photograph it and contact us within 48 hours of delivery at sales@thegarden-works.co.uk and we'll arrange a replacement or refund.
Yes, this is completely normal. Plants can experience minor stress during transit — slightly drooping leaves or wilting are common. Simply water well, place in appropriate light and give your plant a few days to acclimatise. Most recover quickly. Check our Growing Guide for specific aftercare advice.
Pot sizes vary by species and are listed on each product page. Common sizes include 9cm, 2L, 3L, and 5L. If you're unsure which size suits your needs, feel free to contact us and we'll advise.
We offer selected bare-root specimens seasonally, typically between November and March when plants are dormant. Keep an eye on our website and newsletter for seasonal availability announcements.

Returns & Refunds
We accept returns within 14 days of delivery for non-perishable items (pots, tools, accessories) in original, unused condition. Due to their perishable nature, we cannot accept returns on live plants unless they arrive damaged or incorrect. Please see our full Terms & Conditions for details.
We're sorry to hear that. Please take photos of the damaged item and packaging and email them to sales@thegarden-works.co.uk within 48 hours of receipt. We'll arrange a replacement or full refund as quickly as possible.
Once approved, refunds are processed within 3–5 working days back to your original payment method. Please allow an additional 3–5 days for the funds to appear in your account depending on your bank.
Account & General
No — you can checkout as a guest. However, creating a free account lets you track orders, save your address, and view your order history. It only takes a moment to create an account.
Once your order is dispatched you'll receive a confirmation email with a tracking link. You can also log in to your account and view your order status under "My Orders".
You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails, or by emailing us at sales@thegarden-works.co.uk. We'll remove you promptly.
